Summer is a youngest child in the family. Her full name "Summer Joy" was reflected the happiness of Arlyn and John when they gave up Children of God religious cult and returned to the normal life.

Summer is very talented (well, it seems to be characteristic feature of all Phoenix's siblings). She is interested in music and acting and even in fashion.

Summer plays guitar and piano in Papercranes where her sister Rain is lead-vocalist. Also she has a big list of played roles in movies. Her husband is - surprise, surprise! - Casey Affleck (Joaquin's co-star in "To Die For"), they have a son Indiana August (born on May 31st, 2004)

She is a strict vegan and supporter of many activist groups.
